  Service varies from ok to awful depending on which clerk you get. This is also the only post office location I've been to where they won't tape a package for you in the event you buy a USPS box to ship something in. Or, I should say there's *one* old guy that won't tape the box for you-he'll (rather rudely) say "And we also have tape", which will cost (at least) and extra $3. If it weren't for him, this location would be fine but he has a poor attitude with customers; even if you've provided your own packaging he still comes off as a snippy. Honestly, I take a little extra time out of my day and go to the Juneau location because the better service is worth it.

  Not only did they lose multiple packages, but they've lost wedding and baby shower invites. I've complained multiple times about packages being lost- when they say they've delivered them. So someone scans the package as if it were delivered and it never actually made it to my door. Then two months later the package shows up after I already had to purchase another item to replace the lost one. So that tells me there is not a theft issue with someone stealing it from my porch. Secondly, over and over and over again I have sent out invites in the mail, meticulously checking addresses and the addresses are correct, I add stamps as is required. more than half of the time 1/2 of the invites get lost. It ONLY happens when I mail out of the Bay View Post office. If I take the extra time and drive to the central post office downtown they always get out and never seem to get lost. They can explain to me over and over that everything gets sent to the downtown location and therefore the problem is there, but it seems odd that it ONLY happens when I send my mail to this office first. On a side note, the mail carrier on our street is CONSTANTLY giving us the wrong mail, which makes me wonder how much of our mail is never making it to us because they are delivering the wrong mail to us all the time. Sometimes the addresses are not even close to being similar. Major quality control problems at this post office location, better off dropping it at the central location.
